Exercise and Blood Pressure

Usually, the resting pulse pressure in healthy adults, sitting position, is about 30–40 mmHg.

The pulse pressure increases with exercise due to increased stroke volume, healthy values being up to pulse pressures of about 100 mmHg, simultaneously as total peripheral resistance drops during exercise.

How long does it take for the Bp to return to normal?
-In healthy individuals the pulse pressure will typically return to normal within about 11 minutes after exercise.

What does it means when the value is narrow or too low?
-If it's too narrow ,for an example,25 mmHg or less, the cause may be low stroke volume, as in Congestive Heart Failure and/or cardiogenic shock etc.
Consistently high values maybe due to many causes such as anaemia ,pregnancy, heart problems ,hyperthyroidism  etc.
To have a healthy heart with normal reading thru out the year, keep your salt intake low, exercise regularly and lead a stress free life.

What is the most common problem associate with prolong high Bp?
-there are many but the serious one is simple; stroke.
